The Oppressed Peoples Of Honako is a growing, economically stable country found in the central area of the Gatesville region. It has a population which has passed the one billion mark and is currently a quite an established member of the international community, having taken part in many conflicts and international events, such as the Theeb Anti-Slavery Conference. Its government is an avid supporter of environmental, anti-terrorism and anti-nuclear policies. It is a new state formed by the discovery of new land in the Gatesville region in the 1950’s. The countries slogan for its entire 50-year existence has been ‘Those who live in fear, live in Honako’ although the actual reality of his statement has been relaxed in recent years after a change in government and more civil rights being granted.

Politics.

Honako’s Government is run by a commission and meeting committee known as the Honako Independence Commissionas. It is sometimes referred to as the ‘people’s government’, a lack of good MP’s resorted them in the 1960’s to appoint local people as governors. The truth in this though has in the last 20 years waned though as currently there is only one government member from the people, Gerald Maxe, a 75 year old, the oldest member of government and last member of the peoples government. The government buildings are found in Jabero, the third largest city in Honako and the capital between 1955 – 1972.

Honako has always been very pro Environment and very anti-nuclear and violence, although it does have a large defence and law and order budget as sometimes the nation is in a fragile state.

History.

Honako was founded and ruled by Belgium from 1953 until independence in 1979. For this entire time a ‘dictator’ ruled them, someone who was supplied by the French Government, Jérôme Chirac. Chirac saw over the deaths of two million Honakeons (citizens of the country) and despite huge propaganda was the most hated man in the country. He created a huge military and spent little on Education and Law & Order, leaving Honako in disarray. He created slavery there also which was only abolished in 1982 after numerous years of protesting.

After years of war and protest against him, Chirac was finally removed as leader by united forces from various nations opposing his rule in 1979. Aged 67 at the time, he was sentence to 112 years in a high security prison and Belgium gave over the country to the Honako Independence Commission, lead by a woman named Mrs. Bourla Parkins - though in theory the Commission rules the country equaly. They went about to create the country described today and formed there own politics. Here is a description of the current Honako:

'The Oppressed Peoples of Honako is a huge, environmentally stunning nation, remarkable for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate, cynical population of 365 million are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Law & Order, although Defence and Education are secondary priorities. The average income tax rate is 60%. A substantial private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

Public loudspeakers constantly tell citizens they are "happy people", gambling addicts regularly lose their families' nest eggs at Native Honakoite casinos, the government is avowedly atheist, and religious organizations are being forced to leave the country or pay income taxes like everybody else. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Honako's national animal is the Hedgehog, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Dime.

Honako is ranked 3rd in the region and 72,989th in the world for Largest Trout Fishing Sector. '

In Honako the capital city is always the largest city at the time, which can lead to a frequent change in capitals and problems with the location of Parliament. Liche is currently the largest city in Honako by a good 7 million, so it is likely it will be the capital for a while. The government has places to meet in all of the five largest cities, but the Government Headquarters are located in Jabero.

Unlike most nations, more people live in rural areas of Honako than Urban areas, with 57% of the population living in the lush countryside.

Honako has always been a very working nation. Only 3.06% of people are unemployed, and that is usually out of choice. It is seen as strange not to work in Honako and discrimination over wage and job is a really anti-social problem.
