The House of Al-Khalil is the Royal House of the United Kingdom of Egypt and Sudan. The ancient Arab dynasty dates back to the Sixth Century, when the Al-Khalil estate (known to the West as the city of Hebron) was ruled by a Prince who held the same surname. With the course of time, the House of Al-Khalil would become one of the most powerful ruling families of the world, ultimately overthrowing the Umayyad Dynasty and ascending to the Caliphate in 747 and ruling over the vast Islamic Empire.

In 969, the House of Al-Khalil was overthrown and fled to Egypt. The Royal House ultimately seized complete power of Egypt in 1174 and then head of the House and Family of Al-Khalil Prince Abd Al-Rahman Mahmoud crowned himself King Abd Al-Rahman I of Egypt. The House of Al-Khalil has ever since supplied the monarchs of Egypt and Sudan.
