The House of Assembly of Burgesses of the United Kingdom of Isselmere-Nieland, known colloquially as either the House of Assembly or the House of Burgesses, is the official title of the Lower House of the Isselmere-Nielander Parliament. The House of Assembly traditionally sits in Hall of Audience within Pechtas Castle.

History

The origins of the House of Assembly can be found in the informal burgesses' assemblies (burghes mote) established in 1349 to counter the socio-economic unrest caused by the Black Death. Following the suppression of the peasant revolt, Alfred I established the Royal Assembly of Burgesses (Kinglicht burghes gemote).
