The Republic of Hullrovia is a small, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-working, intelligent population of 12 million are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.
The small government juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Commerce. The average income tax rate is 11%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Door-to-door Insurance Sales, Soda Sales, and Trout Farming industries.
Euthanasia is illegal, the tenet of free speech is held dear, military spending recently hit a new high, and voting is voluntary. Crime is moderate. Hullrovia's national animal is the flying squirrel, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the puck.
