Humo
HUMO is a popular, independent, Belgian weekly radio and television magazine, written in Dutch.
Originally the magazine was titled Humoradio, for 'humor' and 'radio'.
Humoradio was first published in 1936 as a Dutch language counterpart to Le Moustique. During World War II between 1940 and 1944 it was not published. In 1958, when television started to reach a larger audience, the magazine was renamed to Humo.
HUMO and NationStates
HUMO has been crucial in the history and development of the Dutch-speaking regions in NationStates. After it published a short article about NationStates in its edition of 4 February 2003, many Belgians started founding their own NS-countries. The region of Belgium even considers 4 February 2003 as its founding date, thereby emphasizing HUMO's importance.
