History
Hydac was first settled by British colonists in 1873. Within 20 years British colonists, administrators, and troops made up close to 40% of the population. As the British Empire crumbled, Hydac was granted independence in 1948, however many of the White settlers remained behind. As Whites had access to better education and much more economic clout they have retained most of the positions of authority in Hydac's government, military and economy. However, relations between Arabs and Whites are quite good due to Hydac's relatively strong economy and high standard of living.
