Hyperion
Original habitat found by Gentec. Is almost a religious icon amongst the Luminate class, whom it created as a means to contact the humans.
Human Population
Nearly nil. Only members of the Luminate Council are allowed access to Hyperion, and even then they only travel to it when they retire, or in times of dire need. Almost all deceased concil members are interred in Hyperion, and their memories integrated with that of the ancient Habitat.
Role in Nation
Hyperion is not a member of Gentec, or at least not an active one. its part in Gentec culture is mostly as a semi-mythical father figure. It is however reputed to have a position on the Gentec Council, as chair. Wether this is true or not is difficult to tell as it has obviously never attended in person, and the Council's sessions are all closed.
Description of Hyperion
The size of an average planet, Hyperion is a glittering sapphire sphere, a living world governed by a central conciousness. Though it has no atmosphere, its internal space is dominated by huge habitation areas, artificial ecosystems designed to house its original inhabitants, now long dust.
Hyperion's habitation areas are huge biospheres containing lush and exotic landscapes and intricate ecosystems. There are six biospheres altogether and each of them contains a very different environment. It was never intended or designed, assuming it was designed at all, to hold large populations and as such it created a second generation of Habitats to which it sent its human occupants in what is known as the “second exodus”, thus giving birth to the nation of Gentec Amalgamated as it is seen today.
