NEWSFLASH: CHANCELLOR STABBED, ASSISTANT THREATENED, MESSAGE DELIVERED MULHOLLANDGRADIA

Chancellor Kathryn was found in her office stabbed, and was quickly rushed to a hospital in critical condition. No word on her exact state was given, but the legislative assistant who found the Chancellor was also assaulted. "When I walked into her office I rushed over immediately. She was barely breathing. Before I knew it i had a sword at my throat, and a man dressed all in black whispered into my ear 'here is why we do it' and handed me a letter."

The contents of the letter at this time is not being released, but sources have informed us that a group named "The Independent Coalition Against Radicals Undermining SUBOS" (ICARUS) has claimed responsibility for the attempted assassination.

Also suspected to be the work of ICARUS was the tearing apart of the then unoccupied offices of Tinashappyplace representatives. Though authorities tried to contain the message spraypainted on the walls in red, the message was far too public to miss "Don't fly too close to the sun. GLORY TO SUBOS!"

In response to the violence, Foreign Minister Raoul Rossi had this to say: "We must not allow political assassinations to bring us to our knees in fear. The attempt on the Chancellor was a dispicable act, one against the true spirit of SUBOS, and that surely no true ally of SUBOS or the proposed NUBOS would condone. Swift action must be taken by a swift leader. As the next in line to Kathryn I shall do what must be done to bring those responsible to justice, be they extremists or McVanians attempting to create turmoil enough to take over with their HOPE."

Rossi, who has been on record as against the recent trends towards demilitarization, and a strong supporter of HORVATH II, refused to comment on any policy changes he may instate should the assassination attempt turn to full out tragedy.

Family of Kathryn leveled their suspicions at the most vocal critic of their relative, Roonsburgian leader Achmed the Snake. "That man has an agenda," the weeping mother exclaimed, "and he will pay for it!"

Achmed when asked for comment, brushed the comment off calling it "preposterous" and offering his sincerest condolences to the family.

At last reports, the Horvath was rushing to Mulhollandgrad. Updates regarding Kathryn's help shall be forthcoming as the USSM reports them.
