Ilan-Lindal Aharon-Alfirin (born 13 December 1979) is a General in the Morindiran Army and the Top Aide in the Morindiran Security Commission.

Personal Background

Ilan was born in the Morindiran province of Havlislin, which borders Greater Tomania. His mother (Morindiran journalist Yasmin Aharon) met his father (Tomanian culture expert Thalion-Máfortion Alfirin) while covering the first Morindir-Tomar anti-aggression pact confrences in Valinskya. After dating briefly, Yasmin and Thalion decided to marry and settle in the border city of Ville d'Asq, Morindira. Despite the controversy surrounding their marriage, they lived quite happily for many years while raising Ilan and his younger sister, Adira-Aradhel Aharon-Alfirin.

Ilan and Adira both attended Morindiran public schools until Ilan was 10 years old, when his parents divorced for what they called "personal, cultural and paparazzi reasons." Ilan and his sister went to live with their father in Tomania immediately following the divorce. During his time in Tomania, Ilan became interested in the cultural differences between the two nations and he "came to recongnize my Tomanian background as being just as important as my Morindiran heritage." At the age of seventeen Ilan moved back to Morindira and enlisted in the Morindiran Armed Forces. His sister remained in Tomania. He is quoted as saying, "Tomania will always hold a special place in my heart, but Morindira is home, Morindira is where I belong."

Military & Political Career

Ilan first served with the Third Armored Division in Malailand as a Lieutenant. While there, he joined the Szaksin Rifles, the drill team started by Jeanne Szaksin. Even after Ilan became a General, he still kept on his desk a pen set he had won for a drill team competition. After graduating from Valin College, he was granted a commission as an Army Second Lieutenant.

Ilan was a professional soldier for 8 years, during which time he held a variety of command and staff positions and rose to the rank of General. Ilan obtained an MBA from Framindol Academy and then retired from the armed forces to work in the Moridiran Securtiy Bureau. He still retains his rank as 4-star General.

Civilian Awards

Ilan's civilian awards include two Praetorian Medals of Valor, the Praetor's Citizens Medal, the Gold Medal of the Raven, the Distinguished Service Medal. Several schools and other institutions have been named in his honor and he holds honorary degrees from universities and colleges across the country.

On December 15, 2004, Ilan was made an honorary Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath by Empress Ishtar of Greater Tomania.

In early 2006, he was awarded the prestigious Sylvia Thanes Award by the Morindiran Military Academy for his commitment to the ideals of "Duty, Honor, Country."
