Iluvauromeni Sol Mass-Transit Network
The ISMTN is an ongoing project by the Iluvauromeni economic asset IsnCo (Imperial Space Networking Co-operative), under the guidance and partial funding of the Imperial Trade Conglomerate. Numerous foreign investors also support the project, as does the Commonality Space Force.
The stated plan for the ISMTN has, eventually, an unbroken trade route running from Earth throughout the solar system. Currently planned are Highways between Earth and Mars (completed at time of writing), Mars (Cyrnal Yste Orbital Colony) and Tyelco Tuo Sol Orbital (completed at time of writing), Tyelca Tuo and Jupiter (underway), and Earth-Venus (planning-and-funding phase).
The ISMTN Project also has plans laid down for an Orbital Tower, to be constructed inside Iluvauromen. Details regarding the nature of the Orbital Tower are not available for publication, but it is understood from leaked co-operative documents that IsnCo also wishes to build such a Tower on Mars.
Earth-Mars Highway
The Earth-Mars Highway, running from a small Iluvauromeni Military Exclusion Zone in free Earth space to Cyrnal Yste (Mars City), an Iluvauromeni Tharash colony in Mars orbit, is an important trade route between the two planetary bodies.
Constructed in a joint Commonality Space Force-Imperial Space Networking Co-operative venture, the EMH (or MEH, Mars-Earth Highway, as it is designated in Mars Space) cost nearly one-point-three trillion US$ equivalent to build. Most of that cost was in research and development.
The Highway maintains it's solar position via a chain of accelerative/decellerative magnetic propulsion systems; the distance between the Earth and Mars constantly shifts, so there are reserve 'rings' which can be activated and slipped into the chain to ensure a seamless link. The Highway stretches up and out of the plane of the ellipse, thus avoiding the Sun when both planets are on opposite sides of said stellar body.
AG (anti-gravity) fields must be switched off to utilize the Highway; failure to comply results in hostile action against any such vessel, under Iluvauromeni Law. Warning beacons insist on the rule for quite some distance on the route inwards, giving ample oppurtunity for compliance. No ships, as of yet, have failed to comply. Active sensor scans of the propulsive rings themselves is also prohibited, under penalty of ship seizure.
The EMH has a 100% safety record.
Mars-Vilya Elenosto Highway
The MVEH does not currently carry civilian traffic: it's usage is limited to code-bearing VESF(-associated) or Commonality Space Force(-associated) vessels.
It operates under the same principles as the EMH (Earth-Mars Highway).
