Imperial Oil & Gas plc. is a Praetonian engineering and hydrocarbons company and the second largest company in Praetonia by market capitalisation. The company has a number of diverse engineering interests, including the Lion Motors' car manufacurer and oil fields in Eurasia.

History

The Horace & Worthington Engineering Company was founded in 1873 as a manufacturer of drilling and surveying equipment. The Company remained relatively small and unknown until winning a contract in November 1902 to supply oil drilling equipment to the Crown Petroleum Company. Three months later Horace & Worthington was purchased by the crown and the two companies were amalgamated into the Imperial Oil & Gas Company. As little progress had yet been made on the extraction of Praetonian oil, almost all of the new company's assets were supplied by Horace & Worthing, with the Crown Petroleum Company supplying only the drilling licences for the oil fields in question.
