Imperial Royal House
The Imperial Royal House is the royal family that rules the Great Star Empire of Allech-Atreus. Divided into two sections, the Royal House distinguishes between immediate family members and extended family members. The distinction is mainly to prevent conflicts for the throne.
The immediate royal family is composed of the current Emperor, Allech-Atreus XIV (Immarat Allech-Atreus), the Empress Uria III (Kitana/Kerana Lakarik), the Empress Dowager Erina Bergamad (Empress Asuria VII), the Imperial Crown Prince Scion Mammaran, the Imperial Princess Orpheia As, the Imperial Prince Theran, and the Imperial Prince Perin.
The extended royal family is much larger, and as of yet has not completely been charted. Because of the intermarriage common between the ruling families of regional and planetary governments, it is very common to find relatives of the Emperor all across the Empire. However, the majority of extended royals do not carry titles and have no claim to the government. Their only advantage of being distantly related to the Imperial family comes from Taam In Phar, which venerates the relatives of the Emperor as being part of a holy family. The futher away from the Emperor the family member is, the less divine blood they possess. Under Taam In Phar, marriage does not confer royal blood, only birth.
Imperial Family
The immediate royal family is known as the Imperial Family, because their line holds the throne. Although the Emperor has concubines, the only recognized heirs to the throne are those birthed by the Empress, his wife. This is to prevent, again, conflicts to the throne. The edicts of Taam In Phar state that the holy blood only flows in the veins of those royal children whose mother was consecrated in marriage, meaning the Empress.
Many of the closer relatives to the Imperial Family have titles of their own, though of considerably lesser rank. For example, the Allech-Atreus ambassador to the United Nations, Landaman Pendankr, is a cousin of the Emperor. He holds the title of Baron of Samda on Khaylamnis. The title of Prince is not given to those outside of the Imperial Family, unless they are related to the King of Kolthurnia or the Sultanshah of Osmana. In that case, the title of prince is suffixed to indicate their seperation from the Imperial Family.
In colloquial speech, the family is often referred to as The Imperial Family, the royal family, the Holy Family, and the Imperial House.
