If punctuation is placed incorrectly it can create great confusion. For example,

Charles the first walked and talked half an hour after his head was cut off. Obviously he didn't walk and talk with no head. But correctly punctuated the sentence should be like this. Charles the firsyt walked and talked; half and hour after his head was cut off. Even if you meant to pronounce the punctuation it could be difficult to detect.

Here are a few more examples.

Every lady in the land has twenty nails upon each hand. Five and twenty on hands and feet. All this is true without deceit.

BlobbDobb’s national language is called Inflationary language.

How to speak inflationary language

When certain letters are pronounced in English they sound similar or the same as English numbers, for example:

  • WON = One
  • FOR = Four
  • Great = Eight

And there are many others,

When you see a word with a hidden number in it, you must raise that number by one. For example:

  • WONderful = Twoderful
  • ONCE = Twice
  • BeFORE = Befive

Occasionally there are exceptions to this rule, for example translating becomes transl’ining. You add an apostrophe were the ‘n’ is taken away. Native BlobbDobbians no longer bother doing this.

Also, Whenever BlobbDobbians started speaking this language, it became very confusing as to what and were the punctuation marks were. So they created a system of making different sounds for punctuation such as !”( ),.?’ And so on. However, In order to learn these sounds, you must hear them, so to fully learn Inflationary language you must be taught be a person.
