The Democratic Republic of Interbreeding

Interbreeding is a nation in transition from a capitalist to a socialist society. State power is in the hands of a Marxist junta, who wish to ensure maximal freedom for all citizens, along with equal recognition for all members of society. Interbreeding has a constitutional democratic system of government, pending the extension of direct democracy to the masses. Dissent is encouraged according to Mao's slogans, "It is right to rebel" and "Let a hundred flowers bloom", but any flower or rebellion which threatens the socialist character of Interbreeding will be crushed remorselessly.

Flag

The flag of Interbreeding has recently been changed from the traditional picture of the god Ganesha

to a new design reflecting the political stance of the country:

The new flag, has a red background, for the masses, a gun, standing for the struggle against capitalism, and a bicycle, standing for freedom.

Foreign affairs

Interbreeding brooks no foreign interference with its socialist path. While Interbreeding trades with the world, it does not belong to the UN, since it does not recognise that body's right to legislate against the interests of the working class, and encourages its populace to arm themselves against the possibility of imperialist intervention. The government of Interbreeding strongly rejects to the UN categorization of the country as a 'Scandinavian Liberal Paradise', on the grounds that it is neither Scandinavian nor liberal; while the designation 'paradise' is highly laudatory, Interbreeding does not claim any such status.

Infrastructure

Interbreeding has banned the bourgeois plague of private motor vehicles in favour of mass public transportation, and the bicycle, which is also a national emblem.

Cultural Revolution

Following Mao, Interbreeding is currently in the throes of its own Glorious Proletarian Cultural Revolution, in which the citizenry are allowed free reign to berate government officials, even with mild physicality (particularly in the recent epidemic of cheese-throwing), and demonstrate publicly without police intimidation. Children are allowed to run wild and free.

Environment

The government of Interbreeding is extremely protective of Interbreeding's natural environment, but practices a policy of interaction between people and environment. Interbreeding is blessed with a population of free-roaming, true-breeding ligers, which are so thriving that they are hunted for sport and food in order to keep numbers down.
