Islamic Liberal Party

The Islamic Liberal Party is one of the few major political parties in the Revolutionary Republic of Wazistan.

The ILP was founded in 1980 by the late President Muhammud al-Bara, the Party did not become a major political party until 1990 when it won enough seats to become the Official Opposition to the Labor Party. As of May 5th, the ILP has been the Ruling Party in Parliament with its leader Musham Allawi as Prime Minister.

In early 2005, the ILP was unable to win an absolute majority in any House of Parliament which force the ILP to join a former a Coalition with the Islamic Conservative Party and United Democratic Alliance.

Governing Body

The Governing Body of the ILP is the Executive Committee, which compose of 121 members. The Committee provides national leadership and is responsibile for promoting the Party's platform and developing the Party's policies. The Committee also coordinating fundraising and aides party candidates in elections.

The Executive Committee is also composed of 3 Subcommittees which are responsibile for different areas such as legislative elecions.

The current Chairman is Marwan Allawi, cousin of PM Allawi.
