Israel-Palestine (War)

Israel-Palestine was a nation in Europe modeled after the RL area of similar name. It became a conflict that cost thousands of lives and involved nearly all of Europe.

Pre-War

Israel-Palestine was originally a nation comprised of Christians, Muslims, and Jews all living together under a single government. It was heralded as a true symbol of what was possible when peoples of differing (and opposing) backgrounds worked together to live in peace. What was later realized by the rest of Europe at the onset of the Israel-Palestine conflict was how truly fragile this coalition was.

Conflict and Invasion

After the fragile balance between Christians, Muslims and Jews broke up and the government collapsed, the nation descended to anarchy. Several powers, moved by religious lobbies or just for the simply wish of acquiring a colonial possession, moved their forces to occupy the largest cities. In a first phase of the conflict, several powers declared the independence of small puppet states. In response to the "imperialist" Einland advance in the East and the subsequent creation of the Commonwealth of Haifa, RWB forces started occupying the West. (excerpt from Europe)

A Fragile Peace

As the war dragged on, many yearned for a quick, peaceful solution. At this point, Interlaken and the EU chose to intervene. All of the involved parties agreed to submit to EU-ITO run elections that would establish the many sub-states of Israel-Palestine that exist today. After the elections were concluded, some countries had gained land while others has lost land and still others ceased to exist completely. Several European nations recognized most, but not all of these new states. Nations such as Great Britannia called the elections illegitimate. As time has gone on, the states of Israel-Palestine have slowly begun to rebuild, though the threat of conflict still looms over the area.

States created from Israel-Palestine:

  • Commonwealth of Haifa, under jurisdiction of the Republic of Einland
  • Zionist Republic of Israel, under jurisdiction of the Azorean Fascist Republic
  • Palestine, under jurisdiction of the Nosterran Social Republic
  • Horn of Israel, under jurisdiction of the Commonwealth of Medolai
  • Patrimonium, under jurisdiction of the Holy See of Twente
  • Shahlep, under jurisdiction of the Free Republic of Capitollium (in cooperation with Twentish Patrimonium)

Haifa Advances

Few years after the established partition of Israel-Palestine, Einland (a State which did not recognise the Interlaken elections) advanced and occupied the Horn of Israel. The situation originated much diplomatic fuss, since the action was supported by Great Brittania, a nation with whom Medolai held a non-aggression treaty. Several nations, mainly Medolai, the Azores and Nosterra, contested the move and condemned the illegal occupation. International apathy did, however, prevail, as the contesting nations did not want to trigger a war over the issue.
