JO4 Observation Drone

The Joint Operations Number Four Drone is an unarmed solar powered high altitude, high stamina observation drone Unmanned aerial vehicle in the service of the Zepplin Manufacturers Defence Forces.

The J04 was for the first two years of its existence the ZMAF TR32 developed for the ZMAF applied recognisance program. It was found to be a highly successful and adaptable design and with constant increases in power storage capacity and solar panel efficiency its stamina could only seem to grow. In 2001 it was retasked and renamed the Joint 0perations Number Four (the JO4) and the characteristic optical instruments globe tipped airframe has been in service ever since. The JO4 can be launched via air drop, or assisted ground launch. Normal launch platforms consist of the ZMAF Dawnhammer Stratigic bomber, the Parashock Skyrunner trasnport Rotodyne or via a truck carried rail and rocket pod combination. An over turret launch rail kit for the ZMDF's ubiquitous Sabre AFV has also been tested.
