History:The JSCC(Jeffgordonville Stock Car Championship) was founded by J.G. Tondun in 1956.Origianlly, 20 drivers started at the inaguaral race at the Tondun Raceway, which is similar to Milwaukee. This quickly grew to as much as 31 after the first season finale at the Tondun City street course. The winner of that race, the daring Joe Emberton, also won that championship.

Emberton would go on to win 3 more championships by 1966, when he retired.By then there were as many as 46 drivers per race, and 29 of them full time drivers, racing not only at the Tondun Raceway, but at other tracks such as the Pepsi Superspeedway, and the Emberton Speedway. Many up-and-comers raced in that series, such as Shaun Redianal(went on to race Tundran Open Wheelers), Micheal Myannaty(3-time winner of the great Tundran race), and Jimmy Bygo(Jack-of-all-trades racer).Over the following years, the JSCC evolved into one of the more prestigious national championships, with big names like Mark Martin and the late Dale Earnhardt making races to familiarize themselves with the Jeffgordonville GP.

In 1991, however, tradegy occured as the Pepsi Superspeedway had one of the largest wrecks in motor racing histoy.41 cars started and on lap 12, Joe Emberton III, making his 75th start, challenged for the lead, but tapped eventual champion(and brother) Calvin Emberton and triggered a 32 car pile-up."Yeah, I remember that.Dumbest move I ever made,"recalls Emberton,"I was kicking myself for days after that."It was so bad, JSCC director Marcus Mucus decided to run another race the next day, and provided new cars for those who had none. The next Thursday, he revealed his plan to split the JSCC into two divisions. He announced that only 25 drivers will drive full-time in the A-Series, the rest in the B-Series.The A-Series drivers who finish 21st-25th in points will race against the top 5 drivers in the B-Series, and the top 5 finishers will compete in the more prestigious A-Series, the others in the B-Series. Today, the JSCC still brings new drivers to the international scene, and two great examples are Calvin Emberton and Andrew Fortin.Next season, in 2007, they will hopefully compete in TARSCAR competition.
