If things had been different, if Barry Torniere had never decided to take that fatful jog in the rain that led to a stinking cold, the world may have seen a very different James Barcali. But when he saved a penalty four minutes into his debut, Krytenia were sold - this was the new Adam Vernazza. He has gone from strength to strength, his greatest achievement being an astonishing 843 minutes without conceding in World Cup 22 qualifiers, before finally being beaten in a two-one victory over Kipto-Mare on Matchday 10. Barcali continues to make himself conspicuous between the sticks, seemingly refreshed by newfound competition from former Nova Mercia goalkeeper Todd Colfox.
