James Khara

Born during the waning years of the Republic of Khazaron, James Khara was born into a lower-class family that had to scrimp and save to get by, and always seemed to find itself as pawns used by the wealthy corporations. When he was 15, James saw his father beaten to death by government/corporate goons for botching an order in the factory he worked in. His mother was forced into working 3 jobs for the government, with almost no time off to sleep or take care of her boy. She eventually died of a resperitory infection, caused by unsafe working conditions.

Fleeing his home from fear of the government, James went into the outskirts of the Khazaronian districts, eventually teaming up with the Freedom Alliance movement when he was 17. At the time the Freedom Alliance was trying to keep a low-profile, due to government blood-hound units constantly searching for them, but James did manage to participate in some key raids and fights with Republic mercenaries. A chance injury when he was 20, kept him out of the attack on the Senate building that resulted in the capture and execution of that team.

Over the next decade, James kept a very low-profile, working as an arms smuggler and dealing in organized crime, in an attempt to make connections and set up a network of contacts for his future plans against the government. At the age of 25 James came into contact with some old friends that managed to escape the destruction of the Freedom Alliance and together they began the process of gathering supplies and recruits for their new movement. It toke 5 years for them to gather the troops and supplies needed, without arrousing to much suspicion from the government.

Finally, at the age of 30, James declared war on the Republic of Khazaron and began a guerilla war against them for 4 years, constantly being chased by government mercenaries. By the time he was 35 though, things had changed. James had managed to garner the majority support of a dis-illusioned military and seized control of the capital of Khazaron, executing the President. Over the next six months he would slowly, but surely, eliminate the majority of the remaining Republic forces from Khazaron.

After his victory, James Khara was installed as the First Archon of the Dominion of Khazaron, after which he spent the next half-year or so attempting to rebuild his nation into the great super-power he envisions it being destined to be. Unfortunately thought, shortly after making his people known to the world, civil unrest broke out again, and caused another series of bloody conflicts. When news of these conflicts where made public, Nedalia and Lamoni offered to broker a peace between James Khara's government and the Republican Loyalists. The resulting talks, called the Treaty of Lamoni by the government, ceased the violence between the two groups and saw the birth of a united Khazaronian government, of which James Khara was crowned Patriarch.

As for style of governing, he likes to pattern himself off of the ancient Roman emperors like Trajan, Hadrian and Marcus Aurelius. He sees himself as a father-figure to his nation and places it upon himself to ensure that his people know a better world than the one he grew up in. To that end, he will stop at nothing.
