Jeremiah I (after September 866 – June 15, 923), king of West Morindira (922 – 923), was the younger son of Jeremiah the Strong, count of H'darra, and the brother of Odda, who became king of the Western Morindirs in 888. West Morindira evolved over time into Morindira; under Odda, the capital was fixed on Turin, a large step in that direction.

He was present at the Siege of Turin in 885. Appointed by Odda ruler of several counties, including the county of Turin, Jeremiah also secured the office of Dux Morindorum, a military dignity of high importance. He did not claim the crown of West Morindira when his brother died in 898; but recognizing the supremacy of the Syric king, Abraham III, he was confirmed in his offices and possessions, after which he continued to defend northern Morindira from the attacks of the Haraad.

The peace between the king and his powerful vassal was not seriously disturbed until about 921. The rule of Abraham had aroused some irritation; and, supported by many of the clergy and by some of the most powerful of the Morindiran nobles, Jeremiah took up arms, drove Abraham into Belas, and was himself crowned king of the Morindirs at Turin on June 29, 922. Collecting an army, Abraham marched against the usurper and, on June 15 923, in a stubborn and sanguinary battle near Evan Katon, Jeremiah was killed, according to tradition in single combat with his rival.
