Justantina Island is an island territtory located in the Grestonian Sea, belonging to the United Federal Kingdom of St Samuel, located in the East Pacific region, off the coast Greston. The capital and major city is St Georges, which is located on the south coast of Justantina Island.

Control of the island was granted the United Federal Kingdom of St Samuel in late 2006, who purchased the unihabited island from Greston. The island has since flourished and mass migration to the island has begun.

History

In April 2007 the island was sold by the Republic of Greston to the Kingdom of St Samuel. The island, at the time was uninhabited and was named Justantina Island after the current reigning monarch, King Justantine IV of St Samuel.

Since the island became a soverign territory of St Samuel the population is now 470,750.

The island is still used by Greston where they have beer storage facilities.

In late 2007 the island was made a tax free haven in the hope of attracting migration to the island. This attracted nearly 220,000 migrants from Kirav, Vetalia, New Brittonia, Balseros Cubanos and Mokastana and the cities of Kêrona, New Petrovsk, the Wigwam Community, Little Habana and Colonia del Zapata were founded.

Construction of Alexandria International Airport began in early 2007 and is due to be opened in mid-2008.

Wolf Lands Incorporated

In June 2007 Wolf Lands Incorporated were contracted to plan and construct a new city and resort in the West Bay district. The estimated completion date is 2010 and is planned to include a mega-destination resort with an all-inclusive hotel with restaurants, shopping, entertainment, relaxation, business, and more, a small, jungle-preserve styled walk-in (giant cage) zoo, a mini-amusement park complete with rollercoasters and water rides and open fields and park for sports, horses, and personal use. Also planned is a fantasy-styled, in-character city (like a colonial town, but fantasy), complete with everything necessary for both a functioning town and for an enjoyable, sureal experience. The new city has been named Justinian and the resort area Obsidian.

Geography

Justantina Island1.png
Map of Justantina Island.

The Justantina Island is located in the eastern Pacific Sea. They are the peaks of a massive underwater ridge, known as the Mankai Trench, standing 8000 feet from the sea floor, which barely exceeds the surface. The island is situated about 80 miles east of Grafton and the island is 170 square miles (273 km²). The island was formed by large coral heads covering submerged ice age peaks.

The island is served by a local airport, Primoria Domestic Airport. The closest international airport is on mainland Greston. Alexandria International Airport is due to open mid-2008.

A relatively flat island, rising gently to the central highland region, the highest point being Mount Corellian, in the Rubens Creek district, at 336 metres (1,100 ft) above sea level. The climate is tropical, with a rainy season from June to October.

Justantina is often spared the worst effects of the region's tropical storms during the rainy season as its western location in the ocean puts it just outside the principal weather belt.

In the district of South Side lies Justantina's capital and main city, St Georges. Locally St Georges is sometimes referred to as "The City," but the most common reference is simply "Town". Other towns scattered across the island include Alexandria, in the district of East Bay; Zanthius, in the district of North Side; and Justantinian, in the district of West Bay.

It is geologically composed of coral (90 m thick). The land falls in a series of "terraces" in the west and goes into an incline in the east. Most of Justantina Island is circled by coral reefs.

Also the geography serves as a setting for a moderate tropical climate with only two seasons; dry and wet. The dry season (Dec-May) and wet (June- Nov) leaves the precipitation with about 40-90 inches of rain with all the different land types included.

Founded in late 2007 when around 5,000 Kiravian migrants moved to the island to take advantage of the tax free status of the island. The settlement Kêrona was constructed with support from the governments of St Samuel and Kirav and the city built of predominatley metal, stone, and concrete, and to house a self-sufficient Kiravian colony, complete with farms, schools, labs, a college, industries, coffee shops, and gardens. There are port facilities and a well stocked Kiravian museum.

Colonia del Zapata, Rubens Creek

In 2007 around 20,000 refugees from The Armed Republic of Mokastana were granted asylum to Justantina and were supported in the setting up of a settlement which was named Colonia del Zapata, by it's new inhabitants. The main style of architecture is Aztec and Southwestern style Adobes and houses.

New Petrovsk, East Bay

In 2007 nearly 25,000 migrants from the Republic of Vetalia migrated to Justantina Island where they founded the settlement of New Petrovsk. The Wigwam Community, South Side

Also founded in 2007, after 5,500 settlers from New Brittonia migrated to the island, founding the Wigwam Community, a self sufficient ecovillage. The economy is based on locally hand made goods, indexing books, exporting electricity, and organic food.

Little Habana, South Side

When emigration laws on the island were relaxed in 2007 a huge influx of migrants made the journey from Balseros Cubanos. Around 160,000 Cubans of European descendants mostly of Spaniard descent took to the seas on anything that floats, boats, rafts, inner tubes, floating trucks, cars and taxi cabs across shark infested waters, washed ashore Justantina island by strong caribbean sea currents.

Looking to escape their socialist government dictatorship the new settlers were given an area on the east coast of the South Side District. The town was named Little Habana and has quickly grown into a large city.
