Kakariko Village
Introduction
This small village nestles at the foot of Death Mountain, to the east of Hyrule Castle Town. To the north, a path winds up to Death Mountain and to the east of the town is built a huge windmill. Further east is a graveyard. It was originally ruled by the sheikah "Impa." The town remained safe as long as the sheikah people would watch over it. Their loyalty and protective instinct toward the Hylians kept it out of the harm of dark creatures. The town was torn to shackles during the beginning of the Imprisoning war, catching on fire due to unseen forces. It was soon rebuilt after the power of nature’s rain extinguished the flames. Homes grow into the mountain to the north and onto the plains of central Hyrule to the south, joining the two, becoming a waypoint for travelers who might be going to the great Death Mountain. Still a place of Commerce, Kakariko Village provides grassy area for children, family memorial for the desceased, medical care, games and entertainment. It also has shops and inns and taverns, blacksmiths, library and bustling Village Square. It is also home to the village Elder. Many of the inhabitants keep animals like cuccos. It is said to be built upon the ruins of the Shadow Temple.
The Creation of Hyrule
Before life began, before the world had form, three golden goddesses descended upon the chaotic land of Hyrule. They were Din, the Goddess of Power, Nayru, the Goddess of Wisdom, and Farore, the Goddess of Courage.
Din, with her strong flaming arms, cultivated the land to create the earth. Nayru poured her wisdom onto the earth to give the spirit of law to the world. Farore's rich soul created all life forms who would uphold the law.
These three great goddesses returned to the heavens, leaving behind the golden sacred Triforce.
The Triforce was sealed in the Sacred Realm connected to Hyrule. The legends also say that whoever holds the Triforce can make their wishes come true, but only if he has the perfect balance between the three forces: Power, Wisdom, and Courage. If someone without the right balance lays his or her hand on the Triforce, it will split into three pieces. The one touching the Triforce will hold the force that he or she most believes in, and the two other parts will be given to persons chosen by destiny to carry the Triforce-part that they represent. The persons who carry the Triforce or a part of it can be recognized by the Triforce symbol on their hands.
