Kaneshima is a "false state" created to represent Dagnia in the UN. For years, the leaders of Dagnia had struggled with the problem of how to have their voice heard in the UN while not having to comply with any resolutions that would hurt Dagnia's economy or reduce its political power. Dagnia's leaders filed for membership under the name Kaneshima (Japanese- Gold Island), listed the Ambassador as the leader, assigned a territory (a tiny rock in Dongkim bay and Ms. Mizukayoshi's office in the State Ministry) and designed a flag. The flag is intended to be mildly offensive because of its association with militarism and the character (金) gold, money and metal symbolises laissez-faire, trade and strong will.

All Kaneshima citizens are simultaniously Dagnian citizens, mostly those who work with companies that work in other countries that only allow trade with other UN Nations.

Kaneshima has several proposals for the UN in the works, mostly written by Ms. Mizukayoshi working closely with Dagnia's government and businesses.
