Keeryu is a island region comprised of a large landmass containing 52 contiguous soverign nations and several smaller outlying island's directly north of the main island, home to 3 island nations. The presidency of the Keeryu region is currently held by Luodi. The region is currently represented at the United Nations by The Free Irish States.

History
The region of Keeryu was founded on September 15, 2007 by Luodi. Within a few short days the region had already gained over 100 nations. At the moment Keeryu is in a major state of decline, going from 106 nations to only a mere 29 nations. This is mainly due to the fact that many nations that decided to join Keeryu became inactive and also because XXxWindStormxXX is doing something that involves advertising other regions. It really was a sad day for Keeryu when XXxWindStormxXX decided to leave and we hope he gets back from whatever he is doing very soon.
Geography
The main body of the region is made up by a large landmass containing several natural harbors. The island is sub-divided by 52 contiguous nations, the southernmost of which, is the XXxWindStormxXX. Eight outying islands lay directly to the north of the main island, the largest of which, contains The Free Irish States. The founding nation of Keeryu, Luodi, is located on the southeastern coast of the region. Wambi is on the mainland, near the southern-most natural harbor.

Regional Politics
The region is organiszed under a federal union of the member states, with a written constitution and elected head of state, the President of the Keeryu Region. The Keeryu Regional Congess, the legislative body of the region, is comprised of an elected upper house,'The Upper Magistrate' and a lower house, open to all member nations, 'The Lower Magistrate'.
The President of the Keeryu Region, the region's head of state, is an elected position currently occupied by the leader of Luodi. The President appoints a six member cabinet comprised of the Vice President of the Keeryu Region, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Immigration, the Baron of Public Affairs, the Minister of Defence and the Supreme Chancellor of the Lower Magistrate.
Members of the Upper Magistrate, (called 'Senators' within the region), are directly elected by member nations in the Lower Magistrate. The elected Senators appoint the President by popular vote within the Upper Magistrate. The Upper Magistrate is chaired by the Vice President who has the power to cast the deciding vote in the event of a tied vote. The upper house has the power to veto Presidential decisions with a 3/4 majority vote against a Presidential decree. Senators additionally have the exclusive right to bring impeachment proceedings against the President, to the Congress. In the event of 3/4 vote in favour of Presidential impeachment, in the Upper Magistrate, Senators appoint a new President.
