Teams managed Sorthern Northland

Kevin Hugh was the first ever manger of the Sorthern Northland national football team, he was appointed as manager by the FASN after it set up a national football team to take part in World Cup 36. Prior to Sorthern Northland declaring independence he was well respected on the football scene of Northland. After the end of World Cup 37 the Sorthern Northland Football Association decided not to extend his contract.

The Baptism of Fire Incident

Following his team's exit from the Baptism of Fire tournament prior to the 36th World Cup, Hugh was involved in a suspected attempted suicide.

The incident started when he sent in a letter to SNTV complaining at the way the tournament was run, the letter read as follows:

"This tournament and the qualification methods are a farce, Sorthern Northland are currently top of our group and cannot finish third, in any other tournament we would have progressed. Our team have been fairly consistent having won three out of five, but teams like TT Lake Side who have not even won a single match but will be going through because on the merit of other teams. Of course congratulations to the teams who have taken their groups through, but is it fair that team that have done poorly can go through on merit of other teams performing well, while other teams like Bellzantium just as well if not better than some teams going through but are knocked out due to other in their group not doing well."

The letter then descends into some sort of incoherent message which police described as a suicide note, while Hugh claimed it was a shopping list. Shortly afterwards a man matching Hugh's description was found by police on top of a skyscraper. This man later turned out to be Hugh himself and he was sent to one of The Lowland Clans mental hospital where he remained for some time. He was eventually let go in time to return for the World Cup 36 qualifier against Collonie.

There have been a number of theories of how and why he was on top of the skyscraper. He denies he was attempting suicide saying "I simply got lost on the way to the supermarket." He also claims that what police said was a suicide note was "just a shopping list".

Another popular theory is that he was driven to attempt suicide after an advance on Dazza Dallas was rejected, the Village Bike surprisingly denied such an event never happened saying "I did not have sexual relations with that man".

Reports that he was controlled by voices in his head were also denied, a top Sorthern Northland scientist however said that this theory could be true saying, "I struggle to believe that a sane person can believe such a crap player is good enough for the national team", following suggestion that the voices told him to pick Waylan Bootle.
