Overview

The Imperial Commonwealth of Khenala is a liberal-leaning Republic founded on the rule of law and united by a compact of the people for the common good of all. It is a signatory nation to the Charter of the Triumvirate of Yut and inhabits Sectors 7866 - 7940 on the Ring of Powerfulness in orbit of Saturn.

Khenala was originally an empire dating back several centuries, and was formed when the City-State of Khenala Prime invaded and conquered the surrounding City-States of Altair, Supremus, and Optimus. United under Emperor Solarius I, it remained in a long period of isolation from foreign influence in order to secure its power and protect its people from foreign invasion. For many years this policy enabled Khenala to enjoy stablity and a blossoming of its indigenous culture. Khenala experienced several periods of advancement and discovery which culminated in the dissolution of the Empire and the formation of the Commonwealth in the 19th century, and the launch of its first space vessels in the 22nd century. After an invasion attempt by the nation of Xatonia was repelled, the Commonwealth felt it could no longer stand by in isolation and let the course of its history be decided by the rest of the world.

After joining the international community, Khenala set itself out to be a broker of international peace. Its first international achievement of significance was the brokering of a peace treaty between two warring nations in the December Island region. Khenalian diplomats spoke out heavily against the threats of the nation of Pure Evil against Scolopendra, which was the beginning of formal diplomatic relations between the two nations.

Khenala formally applied for Triumvirate membership after this incident and with the help of the Scolopendrans was relocated to the Ring of Powerfulness where it currently resides. It has subsequently acted as Sponsor for the membership of Sakkra and Imnsvale into the Triumvirate, and holds a powerful voice in the influential Council of Yut.

Facts and Trivia

• Khenala Prime has an ordinance that all buildings constructed must be at least 5 stories high and must be considered for multiple uses (residential/commercial, etc). This ordinance was passed due to the rapid population growth Khenala experienced on Earth which quickly constrained available land. This practice followed to the Ring of Powerfulness even though there was plenty of land available. Modern-day Khenala Prime consists of almost 90% skyscrapers.
• Khenala is the first and only signatory to the Triumvirate of Yut to have the symbol of the Triumvirate in its national flag.
