Khenala Prime

Overview

The vast metropolitan capital of The Imperial Commonwealth of Khenala, Khenala Prime is centred around the massive Capital Spire and gardens, and forms an enormous urban area, encompassing the Capital area itself and various smaller cities. Khenala Prime is not actually a city, but is one of Khenala's five Administrative Districts known as a City-State. Khenala Prime boasts a metro population larger than that of many nations, and is the defacto economic, commercial, and political center of Khenala. The large population is realized through the use of numerous high-rise residental towers. Khenala Prime's history dates back to the formation of the Empire, when its army conquered neighboring regions and Cities, eventually uniting all under the rule of Emperor Solarius I to become the Empire of Khenala.

Arcologies

Due to an ordinance mandating that all available land be maximized to its highest potential, Khenala Prime consists of nearly 90% skyscrapers, each of which are zoned for both commercial and residental usage. Due to this large number of high buildings, there is very little surrounding nature for citizens to enjoy. For this reason, an ordinance was passed requiring the construction of Arcologies, which house entire ecosystems in one extremely large building. This enables citizens to enjoy the beauties of nature, while still maintaining a large urban area.
