The Khenas sucession crisis is an ongoing political crisis in Khenas, which has started after the death of Queen Kalie I. One day after the death of Queen Kalie I, the parliament of Khenas has found out that there is no heir to the sapphire throne of Khenas, and from that has to find why the queen is dead, find a new queen, and stop the attempt to overthrow the monarchy. The Khenas liberation movement has taken this event as an opportunity to end the monarchy, and have decided to storm the royal palace. however the palace has for this reason been blocked off, and there are protests outside it. The parliament does not know what to do about that.

Weeks later, the parliament of Khenas has found a new heir, and has rejected taking the democratic alternative, even though it was urged to by the people and by the international community. This was a very controversial choice, and has angered the people of Khenas. Now the liberation movement has grown larger, and the parliament is afraid to hold a coronation ceremony, because they are afraid that the people will storm the ceremony, ending the monarchy. For this reason, finding an heir has not brought Khenas any closer to getting a new queen.
