Min-Sun Lange (née Kim) is a professor of sociology at the Ariddian campus of the Third World Open University in Cité-Belle. She was formerly her country's deputy ambassador to the United Nations.

Early years

Born in Rêvane, Ms. Kim (as she was then) is the youngest of three children. She studied at the University of Rêvane, and holds a degree in philosophy from Lovefest University in Tanah Burung. Expressing has a keen interest in politics, history and sociology, she went on to enrol for new studies at the University of Rêvane, this time in the field of political studies. Her second year studying politics was spent as a foreign student at the University of Merlefurt in Gruenberg, before obtaining her degree in political studies from Rêvane University. The desk in her office at the United Nations was constantly cluttered with books on these topics, alongside light, escapist novels.

Career at the United Nations

Ambassador Kim began her diplomatic career as the personal secretary of Ambassador Christelle Zyryanov, permanent representative of the People's Democratic Social Republic of Ariddia to the United Nations. (Kim is seen here aged 21, shortly after beginning work at the UN.)

In 2125, at the age of 28, she was promoted to the function of deputy ambassador, but accepted to continue performing her duties as secretary simultaneously.

Her task as secretary was to welcome visitors to Ariddia's UN office, and to the ESAT building when she happened to be there. She took calls and messages when Ambassador Zyryanov was absent or did not wish to be disturbed. As deputy ambassador, she was empowered to represent the PDSRA on the floor of the UN General Assembly.

As a civil servant working in Ariddia's delegation to the United Nations, Ambassador Kim had joint Ariddian and Esati citizenship - enabling her to claim proudly that she was "a citizen of one of the world's smallest countries". This also led her to becoming an occasional midfielder in ESAT's national football team, despite the fact that she was, in her own words, "absolutely rubbish at football, and not too sure of all the rules". She once won a silver medal in the Esati National Darts' Championships.

Sheik Nadnerb bin Cluich of Cluichstan once attempted to purchase her for "private employment", an offer which the then Miss Kim declined.

In 2131, at the age of 34, she married childhood friend Jean-Michel Lange.

Subsequent career

In 2134, aged 37, Ambassador Lange (as she was then) resigned from her diplomatic tasks, renounced her Esati citizenship, and took a job lecturing in sociology at the Ariddian campus of the Third World Open University in Cité-Belle.

Later that same year, she gave birth to her first child, a boy named Sylvain. In 2138, she had a second son, François. In 2143, she had a daughter, Anne-Laure.
