King Parzival XIV has reigned Listeneisse through the modern era, watching technological and economical development far outstrip human social advancements. The atomic bomb. Unrelenting fishing, farming, clear-cutting and strip mining. Global warming. How could world wars and genocide not be the natural result of the mania unleashed by such unrelenting change?
He has said this has created a new and growing Wasteland, much the same as what occurred in ages long past when his predecessor, King Pellam, was wounded by the Dolorous Stroke. The land then was tainted and poisoned. The secular world was deluded by visions of grandeur that would lead to its own doom.
Only when heroes stood forth could wickedness be defeated. Only when people turned away from selfishness could the land be made whole again by compassion and care.
Now in his elder years, the king seeks to pass along the traditions and stewardship of his realm to his son, the idealistic and photogenic Prince Loh of Listeneisse. Many wonder what will come to pass when the grand old king sleeps with his ancestors, and the new prince ascends to the throne.
The Royal Family
- The Queen Mother - His beloved widowed mother. Well-known sponsor of various charitable, social and environmental causes. Sits on the Board of Trustees of the UNA-Listeneisse chapter house.
- Princess Amide d'Galis - The King's younger sister; aunt of Princes Kardiez and Loh. Executive Director of the UNA-Listeneisse.
- Prince Kardiez of Listeneisse - Eldest son. Not directly in line for the throne for reasons unspecified. Knight Grand Cross (KGC), Knights of the Order of the Temple of the Holy Grail (commanding officer of the order).
- Prince Loh of Listeneisse - Second son. Heir to the throne. Minister of the Interior, Warzone of the Defenders.
