Introduction

The Knight Class is the primary destroyer of The Phoenix Militia. It is heavily armed and bears four Type 3 Plasma Infused Disruptors and a pair of Type 1 Block IIA Disruptors integrated into the fuselage and there are two semi-concealed Type 4-Q Pulsating Black Talon Phaser Cannons as well as a full torpedo tube array. Of course 4 Black Talon Phaser Arrays, with 8 Strips come standard. It is a fast, powerful ship with the full line of advanced sensors, science laboratories and other systems and equipment common to all vessels of The Phoenix Militia's Fleet.

Weapons

Black Talon Phasers(purple line things on the ships)

"Phaser" is an acronym for PHASed Energy Rectification. The black talon phaser is unique in that its energy beam does not contain detectable amounts of naedion particles. Although they appear to be purple if charging, the Black Talon Phaser's energy beam also emits light which is almost 90% Ultra-Violet. The Black Talons were developed only recently and are more powerful than other Phasers or Compressors, in fact they even are more powerful than some Disruptor Beams and most Plasma weapons. They use a standard track and bank or strip system and a precise targeting system.

Disruptors

A disruptor is a high powered energy weapon used in most TPM Ships. Disruptor weapons carry more energy then standard phaser weapons but lack a phaser type weapon's accuracy and fast discharge.

Black Talon Pulse Phaser Cannons The Type 4-Q Pulsating Black Talon Phaser Cannon or simply Pulse Phaser, fires bolts of energy instead of a sustained beam. They are more powerful than normal phaser arrays which use the track and bank system. This is because the destructive energy is fired all at once. This does however make surgical strikes against specific sub-systems impossible as there is a delay in the burst. It is simmilar to the disruptor in this way. Black Talon Pulse Phasers will replace all Type 1/Block IA Naedion Disruptors and all Type 2 Disruptors as well as some Type 4 Disruptors in the Phoenix Fleet.

Torpedoes There are a variety of torpedoes for the commander to choose from. The Knight can be fitted to fire any torpedo in the arsenal besides the SunFighter, SunSpire and Tri-Cobalt bomb.

Speed

As with all Phoenix Fleet vessels the knight is equipped to travel at high sub-light speeds with both ion and impulse engines and its warp coils are rated at warp 9.5

Protection

The Knight Class features Primary and Secondary Energy Shields, Type 10 Extruded/Forged Tritanium-Nahquada Composite Armor and a backup forcefield layer.

The Knight Class is also equipped with active holo-camo and integrated color changing dynamic nano-paint.

The Knight Class will replace the Interdiction and Avenger class as the main destroyer and indeed will soon become more numerous than any "capital" ship besides the Stryker class corvette(and of course smaller fighters and shuttles) The Knight's Standard shuttle bay holds 4 shuttles or fighters and 2 shuttle pods (or 6 shuttles). So far 12 are in service. The PHX Dark Knight is the only ship with a non-feminine name. The PHX Spanish Queen, PHX Athena, PHX Eowyn and PHX Vixen were the first to be deployed and at least a dozen more have already entered active service. A few are undergoing combat simulations and fine tuning, while more are under construction.
