Kurnikovarium

A mysterious substance contained by a meteorite that crashed into Eden-IV at some point. Kurnikovarium has the special effect of enhancing the mental capacities of every living being that comes into contact with it. This essentially means that a human will be turned into a high-level telepath.

Palantis

During the days between the discovery of Kurnikovarium and the outbreak of the Psion War, the substance was used in variety of experiments. One product made from it has survived into the Eden-IV of today: Palantis orbs. These shining orbs of Kurnikovarium crystals serve as communication devices using some sort of telepathy or quantum entanglement to transfer the thoughts, impressions and emotions of a person holding such an orb into any other orb he focuses on. However, telepaths in possession of such an orb can eavesdrop the the communication between two other orbs, and essentially, every information fed into one of the orbs becomes accesible to all orbs instantly. Palantis orbs are a preferred method of communication (along with on-line communication), being seemingly unaffected by the MaGenetic Bomb's radiation burst that jammed radio communication all over the planet.
