LIA HQ

Organization:

The Lamonian Intelligence Agency (LIA) is composed of four distinct branches:

     Directorate of Analysis

The Directorate of Analysis is charged with analysis of all data received from the field; and distributes relevant information to those with the proper security clearances. This branch also performs the checks needed in order to authorize a person for any needed security clearances.

     Directorate of Operations

This directorate organizes and controls all field operations; as well as recruiting potential agents from the Free Republic's colleges and universities. Members of the Directorate of Operations normally spy upon foreign nations that are of interest to the Free Republic; unless authorized by the President to conduct domestic operations (this happens very rarely).

Directorate of Communications, Science, and Technology

The DCST is charged with the creation, procurement, and modification of gear that is used by Analysis and Operations personell in the field. They also attempt to provide information on scientific and engineering intelligence that may be gathered. Some of their inventions are used in every day civilian life.

     Directorate of Administration

This is the largest of the Directorates; simply because of the many tasks that it must perform. All of the functions not served by the other directorates get lumped into this directorate; such as Public Relations, Legal Counsel, Public Policy, and other administrative functions.

Missions:

The missions of the Lamonian Intelligence Agency include Foreign Intelligence collection (and analysis), Assassination of Foreign Nationals (with the written permission of the President), and to distribute vital intelligence information to appropriate governmental/military officials.

Leadership:

The head of the LIA is known as the Director-General, and each directorate has it's own Deputy Director. The heads of the various divisions inside of each directorate are known as Managers. The Mangers report to their respective Deputy Directors, while the Deputy Directors Report to the Director-General. The Director-General reports to both the Lamonian President, and the Intelligence oversight committee of the Lamonian Chamber of Deputies.
