Landaman Pendankr is the former Allech-Atreus ambassador to the NSUN. He now serves as the Imperial Director of UN Affairs, due to his experience in the United Nations.

Born on planet Khaylamnis to Baron Thurgazh Pendankr and Baroness Irinia Pendankr, he was the oldest of three children. His sister, Opheis, died at age 200, and his brother, Yurdamay Pendankr, is Chairman of the Imperial Amalgamated Trust.

Early Life

A typical son of a noble family, Landaman grew up quite privileged. After he completed his required education, he enlisted in the Imperial Guard and served for 20 years. After leaving the Guard, he attended Imperial University on Bibliotecos, and after graduation joined the Takkarth Transgalactic company as an official in the public relations department. However, he was soon called back to Samda by his mother, who was struggling with his father's health.

Baron Thurgazh had been an important and powerful man in Imperial politics, as well as one of the richest men in the Core Worlds. However, late in life his health deteriorated and, coupled with a cadre of political enemies and sycophants, wasted much of his fortune away, nearly bankrupting the family. Landaman quickly took control of the family's assets, and expurgated his father's enemies from the Baronial court and Samda at large. His father abdicated the Barony and passed it to his son, who became the Baron Landaman Pendankr.

Baron of Samda

Landaman worked hard to restore his family's flagging reputation, and while he succeeded in restoring the fortunes of the family, the prestigious name was still tarnished thanks to the smear tactics of his father's enemies. He succeeded in revitalizing Samda and turning it into a profitable area, but finally decided to seek a post in the Imperial government. He left the day-to-day operations to his adjutants, and applied for employment with the Imperial Directorate of Foreign Affairs. His granduncle, Thuryaman Pendankr, was the Director of Foreign Affairs, had never been on good terms with Thurgazh, and was hesitant about giving Landaman a position.

The Emperor, who was distantly related to the Pendankr family, saw his application and personally interviewed him. Landaman was assigned to the delegation of Likhmar Thanmazhal to the UN, and he took the job with pride and humility. Though it was a secret assignment, he relished his job as Chief of Office Affairs. He developed a good relationship with his granduncle in the process.

Ambassador & Director

When Ambassador Thanmazhal was assasinated in his very office, Thuryaman appointed Landaman as the new UN Ambassador. Landaman immediatly renovated the offices and changed the staffing of the delegation. He engaged in nearly every debate on the floor, and brought the Empire into such organizations and the National Sovereignty Organization and UN DEFCON. He was recalled to the Empire to head the newly formed Directorate of UN Affairs, his experience being most important. His replacement was Prince Tang, the son of the Emperor's half-brother.
