Lane Park

Lane Park is a large open-area park located in Worthington, the capital of the Commonwealth of Peoples member state of Laneria. The park consists of the area between the Walker Memorial and the Lanerian Capitol Building. The park contains many musuems, gardens, open lawns, scenic lakes, duck ponds and memorials to national leaders and heroes. The central area of the park, unobstructed by any sizable artificial structures, provides a clear view of the capitol from the Walker memorial a mile away.

Lane Park was first constructed in 1901 by the architect Charles Mason. It is the most popular site for tourists in Worthington and the second most popular tourist site in Laneria after the headquarters of the Commonwealth of Peoples. It is also the site of countless protests and rallies either against or in support of the policies of the Lanerian Government or of the policies Commonwealth or even general social and economic trends over which the Government has no control. Some of these protests and marches have been extremely large, consisting of millions of people. Every May 2nd and November 11th the park is the site of huge patriotic celebrations.
