Langlois is a city located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean in the predominantly French-speaking Kelssekian province of Beaulac. With a population of 4,503,923 (2007 est.) in the city centre and a metropolitan area population of 7.2 million, it is the third-largest city in Beaulac and the 11th-most populous metropolitan area in Kelssek.

Enjoying a relatively mild climate compared to the rest of Kelssek, the city has over 5km of beaches which are a popular destination for tourists. Other major economic activities include the manufacturing of textiles and machinery. Langlois is also known as a centre for industrial design.

Transportation

Langlois's comprehensive public transport system includes trams, buses, an underground heavy rail system known as the Metro, and aerial cable cars which handle the city's hilly terrain. Considered as a model system reflecting excellent urban planning, it has won many accolades and is widely considered the best in Kelssek. It is administered by the Réseau de transport du métropolitaine Langlois, a public company wholly owned and funded by the city government.

Gordon Sinclair International Airport is a busy airport served by all of Kelssek's major airlines and used by Kelssek Pacific Airlines as an international hub. It served 22 million passengers in 2006.

Media

The main daily newspaper is the French-language La Presse de Langlois, as well as an afternoon tabloid, Le Journal which specialises in sports coverage. A much smaller English daily paper, the Langlois Gazette, is also published.

Sports

The professional ice hockey team Olympique Langlois compete in the Kelssek Hockey League and play their home games at Arena Pacifique. The city's other major sports team is the professional football team Langlois Océanic, which play home matches at Stade Saint-Anne. Rugby is also popular in the city, although Langlois is without top-flight representation in the sport; fans cheer on AS Langlois in the KRU National League.

The city's public squares are also popular with skateboarders and watersports enthusiasts head to the beaches which are regarded as the best surfing spots in Kelssek, although wakeboarding and kitesurfing are popular as well.
