The Kingdom of Latoo is a huge, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate, hard-working, cynical population of 285 million are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Healthcare. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 54%. A small but healthy private sector is dominated by the Beef-Based Agriculture industry.
All streets are privately owned toll roads, murderers frequently escape punishment by claiming they were protecting their honour, untold millions of Hard Cashs are going into a new government-funded maternity leave scheme, and people reciting Shakespeare have become a common sight. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Latoo's national animal is the Latooite Cat, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Black Crystals.
The Leader of Latoo is also enrolled in the Sith Academy giving the Nation strong ties to the Dark Side. The Nation itself has Space age technology but still has several guilds of good old fashioned magic users and adventurers of the fantasy style. All the cities in Latoo are called Latoo and so are all its people, however, the people of Latoo have strong psyhcic genetic traits so for them it poses no trouble. First time visitors, though, are at a loss on how to communicate but the high psyhcic activity puts them on the same wavelength overtime.
Latoo's technology has MultiTech and as such has several different races existing besides humans allowing for a multicultural society.
