Lektavian History

There are several long periods of history that must be considered to try and create a balanced evalution of this large and prosperous nations history;

- The Ancient Period - The Medieval Period - The Revolutionary Years - The Kahn Wars - Modern Day

The Ancient Period

The Provinces of Levat, Kia and Tavist were all established around 1492 years ago in what is now known as modern day Siberia. These three tribers each had a large community and prospered and were happy in their ways, knowing nothing of war and the potent ruthless leaders of the south.

After about 150 years of this happy prosperity, they each found themselves facing a large and malign neighbour in the form of Shilska Kilas. Shilska Kilas was the leader of a particularly nasty group of southern tribes known as the Shilskalites, devotees and fanatics who had been battle hardened by years of wandering war. When Shilska reached the provinces of Levat, Kia and Tavist, he saw these tribes as easy picking.

The three tribes put up no real fight and came under Shilskas control in a matter of hours, they had no chance. For nearly three decades, the tribes became part of a much greater empire and were quite happy to sevre, until about 1515, when Shilska turned his conquering eye westwards, and towards the middle east.

When Shiska reached the middle east (in modern day Iran) another appeared from the north, in the artic. This being was going to prove decisive the weeks and months of perpetual war ahead, this being was known as the Mistress Madeline, the great Sorceress.

Mistress Madeline - The Superstition and The Legend

Ever since the 'Sorceress' (though her 'magical' abilities are in some douobt) arrived from the North in 1515, a odd superstition has arisen in Lekatvian government that there can never be a 'Dominar' without the 'Sorceress' - this superstition was fuelled by the original Madeline, when she prophecised that there would be a state of never ending war should there not be a 'Madeline' standing shoulder to shoulder with the Dominar.

The only instance of there not being a Sorceress Madeline standing next to the Dominar was during a brief decade in the Medieval (see further below) and the war that occured then was indeed, neverending.

When the Sorceress came down from the North, she brought with her, a large and ornate looking hammer. Decorated with runes and magic looking symbols, this hammer was made of an unknown light alloy that appeared to glow a sickly green (modern historians have put this down to a trace prescence of Einsteinium on closer inspection of the last few pieces of the hammer at a later date). This hammer, she said, was the weapon that would crush Shilska and his tribes and purge them from the lands of Levat, Kia, and Tavist forever, but only if they united against the overlord. Many people cried blasphemy and declared Madeline a witch who needed to be eliminated.
