Roleplaying

  • Course Descriptions:
    • Introduction to RP* - No prerequisites required; Introduction to RP is the most basic course, teaching OOCly about what RP is, how you RP, etc. Final exam is just that: an exam. Currently tought by FPS.
    • Beginners RP* - Prerequisite: Intro to RP. Beginners RP is a partly OOC, partly IC course in which students will be given their first full experience in roleplaying (via the school, during classes), whilst being instructed OOCly. Final exam is an RP thread, through hwich the students will have to proove their basic ability to RP. Currently tought by FPS.
    • Advanced RP* - Prerequisites: Intro to RP, Beginners RP. Advanced RP is an entirely IC course, with OOC only being used for important questions or teacher comments. Advanced RP gives practice, and an enviroment for improvement of RP skills during its course. To complete the course, students must complete two RP threads set up by the teacher. Currently tought by FPS.
    • NS RP - Prerequisites: Intro to RP, Beginners RP, and Advanced RP. The character roleplaying and other types of roleplaying tought in the first tree courses of the school of RP are very useful, without a doubt. However, they may not be enough to survive one in NationStates. This course explores the RPing of a nation, via national posts, media posts, national leader RPs, other leader RPs, major national character RPs, and random person roleplaying. To pass the course, students must succesfully participate and show their skill in several threads created by the instructor. Currently tought by Free Pacific States.
    • Media RP - Prerequisites: Intro to RP, Beginners RP, and Advanced RP. Ever wondered what it would be like to run a newspaper, radio station, or other news service? Media RP explores the roleplaying of such a media program; how it can build into national RP; how it can be used to show what the belief of a populace is; and how it can be used to ones own benefit in the case of war or other emergency. To complete this course, students must make several succesfull news posts about currently active RP threads in NationStates, which will be chosen by the teacher. Currently tought by Free Pacific States.
    • Directed Studies - Prerequisite: Department head approval. Not finding any of the current programs enough of an educative experience? Contact the Department Head about a Directed Studies course, in which, in a one on one or small class enviroment, students will be tought a course that they design, about a subject that they choose. Type of final exam for this course will be chosen depending on the specific class.
  • Course Prerequisites:
See Course Descriptions. Courses labelled with an asterisk (*) cannot be taken at the same time as another course.
  • Professor:
