The Lesser Antilles is a region based on the real life area of the Caribbean. It is notable for the LAEC (Lesser Antilles Economic Community), once one of the largest trade blocs in the world, and the Antilles Yent, a single currency for all the nations of the Lesser Antilles and now a world currency.

LAEC

The LAEC stands for Lesser Antilles Economic Community. This is available for all non-UN countries of the Lesser Antilles. The two main functions of the LAEC is a peace treaty and free trade agreements. Other bodies include the Lesser Antilles Security Council, which make most of the LAEC's decisions, and the Antillean Central Bank, which controls Antilles Yent interest rates.

Also, all LAEC members may join the Antilles Yent, a single currency designed to make trade and movement between countries quick and easy, and further integrate the region. It is one of the world most powerful currencies thanks to it use throughout the Lesser Antilles.

Geography

The Lesser Antilles is a versatile area of the Caribbean Sea, in between rich North America and the poorer south, with influence from Colonial Europeans too. The region has a large, beautiful sea, which is full of wildlife, and picturesque islands with beautiful weather all year round, except for in the short, 1 month Hurricane seasons.

History

The region was founded in April 2005, with Caseia and the United Island Empires its founding members. The LAEC and the Antilles Yent were their first projects. In August 2005, an event called the great schism occur, where a member of the region, T H E F I S H campaigned against the inclusion of United Nations members in the region, the decision was made by Caseia, the United Island Empires and Dowap, the region's first and only for over two years, delegate, to make the region completely UN free. This ban lasted for over two years. In this time the region saw two periods of rapid growth, by the end of the second the regional population had grown to its highest ever, 182, in July 2006. However, the population has slowly declined since. The region's first effective democratic system, the Lesser Antilles Security Council was founded in February 2007. This now passes all Antillean law. Its most region changing and debated bill to be passed was Lesser Antilles Security Council Bill 3, which when passed in October 2007 finally lifted the banned on UN nations in place for over 2 years.
