The Liberal Democratic Party is the main centre-left party in Maanenland and the traditional 3rd party which in times of a hung parliament usually forms a coalition with the Democratic Socialist Alliance. Under the leadership of OD Petrus van Meegeren the party has moved closer and closer to the centre to the dismay of some of the hardliners in the party who want to see a return to stronger liberal attitudes.
