Liberty-topia: A very short History

Liberty-topia as we know it was founded in 1990. Originally called "Enbitom" or "The Cove" in English, it was a quiet unassuming place not much bigger than Ireland, having changed hands through various occuping forces through the ages. Then in 1990 an eccentric trillionaire called 'Tomas Hughes' bought it from the French government, his idea was to build a utopian paradise, sadly 10 years later he was dead along with his dreams.

Liberty-topia: Modern Times

Although the current 'Goverment' would deny it, and indeed you would probably be executed for implying it, Mr. Hughes was assasinated by agents of the current 'King' Nick Washington, King Washington seized power in an almost bloodless coup sadly the bloodletting would begin afterwards as thousands of 'Dissidents' were murdered. Nothing was to stand in King Washington's way as his terrible plan began to unfold, first all natives were put in to 'Rehabilitation' camps and all of their assets seized. All those that tried resistance were murdered along with their families, while this was happening King Washington offered up massive tax breaks to the biggest corporations and their employees to encourage them to move (Which worked suprisingly well), in return for these tax breaks King Washington was given a large percentage in all incoming firms.

The English language was enforced on to all citizens around 2002.

Over the last two decades almost all civil liberties have been lost, while the police and armed forces have recieved massive funding. Quite recently religion has been declared the 'tool' of the 'dissident' and been banned, citizens are now encouraged to worship King Washington.

Freedom City

Home to the largest corporations and 50% of the entire population is Freedom city, a massive ugly "Megacity" comprised of thousands of towering sky scrapers. The biggest of these the "Washington" building stands in the center and serves as the administrative heart of Liberty-topia, this massive gothic superstructure took 10 years to build and boasts one of the best security systems the world has known. King Washington is said to occupy the penthouse of this uber building altough these rumours can't be confirmed or denied.

King Nick Washington and Tomas Hughes

'King' Nick Washington appeared almost overnight, when Tomas Hughes arrived in his new country he recruited a cross section of high profile thinkers from all over the world to help him put together his 'Utopian Paradise'. First Jan Mikal from Slovakia a brilliant philosopher, then the world renowned psychologist Dr. Franz Gruber from Germany, after him came Claudette Olivier from France and excellent economist and politician, Dr. Bill Forbes from the U.S.A. senior lecturer at Harvard Univercity and lastly Nick Washington the 15 year old prodigy from Great Britain said to have an IQ of 210. Tomas called this group "The Enlightened Council"

Tomas spent the first 8 years with his "Enlightened Council" arguing and trying to define his 'Utopian Paradise' Nick Washington spent that time making alliances with the local millitary and police leaders, it is theorized that he convinced them that Tomas's 'Paradise' wouldn't need a military or police force and asked them to pledge allegiance to him.

Then in January 2000 Nick Washington put his plan in to action. While Tomas was travelling by private jet to vist foreign dignitaries in the US, Nick Washington had his jet shot down. Almost as quick he had all of the "Enlightened Council" arrested and siezed power.

Shorlty after taking power he had the leader of the police Commander Mijo Killoj arrested and then General Huisos Yorij leader of the armed forces.

Nick Washington then released a story insinuating that Commander Killoj, General Yorij and the "Enlightened Council" were behind the murder of Tomas Hughes. Both Commander Killoj and General Yorij were publicly beheaded for thier 'Role' in the murder. It is not known whether the "Enlightened Council" were executed or are still inprisoned.

All We can do is estimate. What is known is that the army is poorly trained but recieves the very best weaponry available.

Economic Prowess

Liberty-topia excellent economic power steems from it's total lack of care for its citizen's. The native's are an absolute under-class whereas those working for the corporations make enough money to live very comfortably, and those who run the corporations live like Gods. This system although totally unfair and incredibly cruel has put the economy through the roof.

The Two Biggest Buisnesses

First and formost is the Arms industry, making some of the best weaponry available its weapons are respected and feared the world over.

Second to the Arms industry is the mining industry which mines huge amounts of Uranium. Although Liberty-topia mines uranium and have working Nuclear power stations it is unkown whether they have developed a Nuclear bomb. Huge amounts of forest and plant life has been wiped out by the extended mining operations, what once was a tropical heaven has been levelled into a giant drilling operation.
