History

Arising out of the Dark Ages, Liebermonk remained a very small nation. Its land claims extended only through what was once Liechtenstein. Its early history is not very well known, when a series of raids destroyed all books. In recent times, it has grown quite quickly. Its population almost reaches 2 billion. It transitioned to a democracy in the 1950's. The first President, Doyle, was continually re-elected until 2004. Under his rule, Liebermonk went through radical changes. He ruled with extreme prejudices against minorities. Once the elven population was found, he forcibly numbered them, and made them take human names. As the population grew, Liebermonk saw the need for a colony. They landed with a small group of civilians in Wysteria. The Liebermonkian government severly mistreated those civlians to the point of a full invasion. The colony died after that war, and all of its citizens returned home. Next, after the President Doyle was almost assassinated in a bombing The Atheists Reality took over Liebermonk at first promising peace. Unfortunately, they took an oppresive role and claimed control on the nation. Through talks, however, the situation was solved. Large changes occured in the 2004 election, in which Doyle was replaced. Oddly, the replacer was a minority, woman and Elf. Her name was Lerathen.

Queen Lerathen

Queen Lerathen grew up in the only Elven city in Liebermonk. She was daughter of the Elven King, and as such, became heir to the throne. Once she reached the age of 16, her father abdicated the throne for unkown reasons. Lerathen took charge. She governed her citizens passionately, and benevolently. Once the Elves were discovered by the rest of Liebermonk, she became the representative in the Parliament of Liebermonk. She grew in popularity with the humans and elves, as she was the first woman to hold a major political office. She fought hard agains the oppresiveness of the President, but only through political means. In 2004, she did something very daring on her behalf. She ran for President. She won by a landslide. In early 2005, the citizens enjoyed her ruling so much, they elected to have her as a Queen for the rest of her natural life. She now rules all citizens of Liebermonk, elven and human, as kindly as possible. Lerathen is married to Movodor Alarin. They have one daughter named Eldena. Not much is known of the daughter.
