(Very) Brief History

Pre-1286

The modern-day Liechtenistan and Nendeln was made up of 7 provinces; Valais, Davos, Nendeln, Triesenberger, Immenstadten, Niederoch, and Schwyz.

1286

King Frederic of Valais begins his quest to unite the 7 provinces. His main challenger is King Jean of Davos who is not prepared to hand in his crown so easily.

1286 – 1291 – The Unity Wars

Niederoch is first province to fall to King Frederic’s army. The people welcome King Frederic’s rule after years of mal-treatment by the old King. Many join his army. Triesenberger and Schwyz soon fall to Frederic in 1287. Meanwhile King Jean has conquered Nendeln and Immenstadten.

This starts the main war as the forces from Valais, Triesenberger, Schwyz and Niederoch face off against Davos, Immenstadten and Nendeln. The Battle of Villars-Epeney on 23rd June 1291 is the decider after King Jean is killed by Valais forces.

1st August 1291

King Frederic of Valais is crowned the first King of Liechtenistan.
