Lipogram

The e-Lipogram is one of Zwangzug's most widely-read newspapers, though it has recently switched to online-only publication. It's notable for its omission of the letter E.

It is based out of Noh Weir, a (very) small town in the north. The oddest feature of its small office is an inflatable haddock named Harvey (or RV, if you're talking about it inside: writers rarely use the letter "E" even when talking with each other).

Technique

The staff must use creative terms to overcome their restriction. Synonyms are plentiful, such as "squad" for "team". Usage of people's first or last names or titles is entirely dependent on where Es are: for this reason, people such as head of state Ember Nickel are rarely referenced at all.

Writers do not go so far as to use Algebraic English, but homophones have shown up. This may be purely accidental, however: "takil" is mangled as badly as "karelan".

Controversy

A point of contention among staff is whether Cafundéu, or other names containing an accented E, can be written about. Current policy is to honor the NationStates server's spelling of the name ("Cafundeu") as opposed to how the country refers to itself: therefore, it is not mentioned directly.
