Lloydminster Hutterite Brethren

The Lloydminster Hutterite Brethren are the largest Hutterite community in the Commonwealth of Peoples and the largest Anabaptist religious community in Nabarro Abarca. They are located in the Nabarran province of Lloydminster where they live in relative isolation on communal lands. As of 2006, the community contained 1,232 families.

The history of this community is one of flight and persecution. After fleeing religious persecution in Europe to settle in Laneria, the Hutterites faced renewed persecution when the Lanerian government prosecuted their men for refusing the draft in the Second World War. At least a dozen Hutterites were killed either by officers of the law or by angry citizens who considered them unpatriotic during this persecution which drove them north to Nabarro Abarca where they resettled.
