Lord Commissioner (Isselmere-Nieland)
The Lord(s) Commissioner of Isselmere-Nieland is a royal appointee delegated by the monarch before Parliament to grant royal assent to legislation, to act as the monarch's voice, and to preside over the Council of State and other advisory bodies in the monarch's absence.
Typically, a Lord Commissioner is a member of the royal family, such as the brothers or sisters of the reigning monarch, or in some instances the monarch's spouse and mature children, in particular the Crown Prince or Princess. In accordance with both the Constitution Act and the Lord Commissioner Act, the monarch must appoint two Lords Commissioner. If a female is appointed, she may be addressed as Lady Commissioner in addition to her other titles.
