Lord William Kirsch, Count of Toller's Gate

Born on 3 September 1939 to Lord Richard and Lady Catherine Kirsch, Count and Countess of Toller's Gate, at Jamestown Memorial Hospital in Jamestown, Parlesia, Lord Kirsch led a privelidged life. He was educated at home by private tutors until secondary school, for which he was sent to the private boarding school of St. Batholomew Academy near Sullivan, Parlesia. After graduating in the Class of 1957 from St. Bart's, Lord Kirsch continued his education at the University of Jamestown majoring in Political Science. He received his Bachelor of Science in 1961. From university, he went to McAlistair College of Law in Keating, Parlesia, earning a law degree in 1964. Lord Kirsch was admitted to the Parlesian Bar in July 1964, beginning a private practice in Jamestown with a school mate, Sir Lawrence Matting.

Lord Kirsch's private practice flourished over the next twenty years as friends of his parents provided him with business. In 1986, he was appointed the Lower Court Judge for the Jamestown Jurisdiction by Grand Duke Chadwick. He presided over Jamestown for the next fifteen years with honor. Upon the death of his father in 1989, Lord Kirsch became the Count of Toller's Gate and took possession of the family home in Jamestown. In 1996, Grand Duke Chadwick honored his longtime commitment to justice by creating him a Knight of the Order of the Hound, Second Class.

Following his success as the Jamestown Lower Court Judge, Grand Duke Chadwick appointed Lord Kirsch to the Superior Court in 2001. For the next six years, he would preside over the most important and influential cases in Parlesia. Nearing retirement, Lord Kirsch was appointed Ambassador to the United Nations in May 2007 by the Grand Duke. A lifelong Loyalist, he was quoted as saying, "I don't understand why we must belong to this bloody awful organization anyway" upon his appointment. His delegation office is in the newly built Kirsch Building across the street from the UN Building.

Lord Kirsch married Ellen Trent in 1961. They have three children, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He has been a Member of the House of Lords since 1989, suceeding to his father's seat.
