The Lossë-elen (White-Star, in Quenya) Corporation formed in the early Second Era from the previous company of that age at the behest of its charismatic and extremely successful leader, Lady Fëaelen nos Ancalimë. Diversifying from its original heavy industry role, originally in Uranium Mining, the corporation had come to become the largest producer of technological consumer goods such as automobiles, and home computers in the C’tan Confederacy.

At the dawn of the Second Era, the company came into possession by unknown means, of the means to produce a civilian version of the faster-than-light drive used by the necron fleet. Combined with the skilful application of the rights to manufacture displacement equipment granted by the Emperor, the company now prides itself on having a perhaps unhealthy monopoly over large scale operations, and its ship designs have proven to be the best selling for large-scale commercial applications.

Several decades later, the White Star company began operating highly successful luxury space-travel, in an ever expanding fleet of large liners, the most notable and luxuriant class of which boasts fifteen ships at present, largely named after the most famous living elves.

With over a 50% share in the company, Lady Fëaelen still holds absolute power over the company, though she rarely exercises it, as she now prefers to devote her attentions to her other responsibilities. Her mother, Lady Luinthelë nos Ancalimë is more often present at meetings of the shareholders, and keeps a constant eye on the management of the company.

At last count, the company was indirectly responsible for at least two million jobs, and it is the largest single non-governmental employer in the Empire. Its annual revenue outstrips that of many small countries by a large margin, and annual profits are between tens and hundreds of billions of credits, with many of these billions being given as charitable donations.
